Taryn Duffy has extensive experience within the New York public policy arena, as well as public relations and communications. She serves as Vice President of Public Affairs for MGM Resorts Northeast Group, which encompasses Empire City Casino by MGM Resorts in New York and MGM Springfield in Massachusetts. She served as Chair of the New York Gaming Association, the trade organization for racing and gaming venues in New York State, for two years.
Taryn began her career as a litigation paralegal in California before returning to New York to work in intellectual property litigation. She entered the political arena working for the Speaker of the New York State Assembly before serving as Chief of Staff and campaign manager to a prominent Senate Leader for several years.
As a former Vice President at Mercury Public Affairs, a national public strategy firm, Taryn represented clients in a variety of industries. She has worked on dozens of political campaigns and briefly departed the political world to serve as Director of Admissions for Mercy College’s Bronx Campus.
Taryn is committed to volunteer service and mentoring women in their careers. She has shared her perspective as a panelist, speaking on nonprofit advocacy and development, women in business, career development, and has led campaign readiness trainings for women running for political office. For the past three years she has been listed among The Women Power 100 by City & State Magazine, named 2021 Woman of Distinction Awardee by the Women’s Leadership Council of United Way of Westchester and Putnam, recognized as a 2018 Women in Business honoree by 914 Inc. Magazine, and the recipient of several awards including City & State Magazine’s Above and Beyond Award, Bronx Chamber of Commerce Honoree for Distinguished Service, named a Women of Influence by the Irish Voice, among others.
She serves as a Board Member of ArtsWestchester, Bronx Chamber of Commerce, Yonkers Workforce Development Board, Yo Digo No Más, is an Executive Board Member of the Business Council of Westchester and co-chairs their Women in Business Council and is also a member of the Yonkers Mayor’s Women’s Advisory Council and the Yonkers Career & Technical Education Advisory Council
