Maura Daroczy

Board of Directors

Maura arrived from the Dominican Republic to the City of Yonkers for a summer vacation in 1991; when she was just 17 years old.  Her parents decided that she would stay here to receive a better education.  The only English word she knew was “Hello.”  Maura was an ESL student at Roosevelt High School in Yonkers where she learned English in two years to be able to attend college.  Maura has lived in Westchester for over 30 years.

She has worked in the Westchester Hospitality market since she was 19 years old.  Twenty-six years ago, she began her career in hospitality with an internship at the Stouffer’s Inn in West Harrison, which was acquired by Marriott International in 1998 and became The Renaissance Westchester Hotel, where she held several positions during her 17 years at that hotel.  In 2012, Maura has transitioned into the Hilton brand at the legendary Hilton Westchester and in 2016, she became the Director of Sales and Marketing at the Radisson Hotel in New Rochelle.  Currently, Maura is the opening Director of Sales and Marketing at the SpringHill Suites by Marriott Hotel in the Village of Tuckahoe, which is the only hotel that opened in Westchester County during the pandemic.  Throughout her career in hospitality, Maura has also volunteered for several charitable organizations such as the DUPLER Foundation, “YO DIGO NO MAS” and is an active member of The Business Council of Westchester.  She also sits on the Board of Directors of The Promise to Aid Charitable Organization, Westchester Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and The Westchester Multicultural Chamber.

Maura also served two elected terms in 2017 and in 2019 as Village Trustee in the Village of Dobbs Ferry.  She supported the Mayor and the board, while guiding the Village during the COVID-19 pandemic before stepping down from office.  She was the Liaison to the Youth Service Council, Beautification Committee, Housing Board of Appeals and Human Rights & Diversity committee.  Member of Ad Hoc Citizens Committee on Proposed Code Changes and Downtown Task Force.  She is currently still an active member of the Affordable Housing, Tree Commission, Police Reform and Reinvention Task Force.  All in addition to becoming a Democratic District Leader.
