Voices that add up to say No More to Sexual Abuse

After overcoming an experience of sexual abuse at an early age, María Trusa, founder of the Yo Digo No Más Movement, decide to raise her voice and say No More. Today many people have united their voices against this scourge that affects thousands of children, adolescents, women and men.
Many of the social norms currently place in the Latino community have led to fuel what María calls ‘the silent pandemic of sexual abuse’, which is why it is important to contribute to a change in these norms and raise awareness about the prevention of sexual abuse.
As part of this mission that María has been leading, the First March Against Sexual Violence will be held in Yonkers on April 30th in collaboration with the Mayor’s Office and the Yonkers School District. As a part of the program, there will be a day of workshops to educate and raise awareness about the prevention of sexual abuse, and attendees will also be able to enjoy artistic displays.
